New on NOBLE – The Governor’s Lady

The Governor’s Lady: A Novel – DBC06105 is the library’s latest locally produced book for BARD and also available on NOBLE for faster access to local recordings.

The book tells the story of a woman, Cooper Lanier, who takes the office as governor of North Carolina succeeding her husband Pickett Lanier as he campaigns for President. Cooper quickly realizes that her husband intends to manage the state’s affairs from the campaign trail, even if it means undermining her every command. Cooper is faced with the stark choice of seizing control or becoming a phony, irrelevant figurehead.
