Happy BARD Day – April 2017

Happy BARD day – March 2017 was a record-breaking month for downloading audio and braille. In March 613 audio readers downloaded a record 62261 books, 394 magazines and 36 music items. Another 33 braille readers downloaded another amazing total of 2918 books, 22 magazines and 13 music items. Another 16 people signed up for BARD. BARD Mobile added 53 new users and 60 new mobile devices. Do you BARD? The North Carolina Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (NCLBPH) is a special public library that circulates books and magazines especially made for persons who cannot use regular printed material because of a visual or physical disability. The library is located in Raleigh, but mails materials throughout the state. The NCLBPH is a state agency operated by the State Library of North Carolina as a part of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources. It is also a part of the network of regional libraries operated by the Library of Congress National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (NLS).
